Florida Commerce has launched its Rebuild Florida Hurricane Ian Housing Repair and Replacement Program Assessment. With the HUD allocated funding, the Housing Repair and Replacement Program (HRRP) will assist and prioritize the most vulnerable homeowners and property owners impacted by Hurricane Ian through the repair, reconstruction, or replacement of their Ian-damaged homes, including mobile homes. At a minimum, 70 percent of program funds must meet the Low-to-Moderate Income National Objective, with the greatest prioritization for households with incomes less than 50 percent of Area Median Income.
Completing this brief assessment is a necessary step for citizens to apply for program assistance through the Rebuild Florida Program.
Assessment responses will help Florida Commerce evaluate whether or not applicants are eligible for federal grant funding through the program and will help understand the outstanding needs of homeowners affected by Hurricane Ian.
Applicants may receive an invitation to apply for assistance based on their responses. Assistance is not guaranteed.
Florida Commerce will manage the construction process. With the assistance of staff and vendors, the state will work with a pool of qualified contractors assigned to repair, reconstruct, or replace damaged properties. Applicants must have legal ownership of the storm damaged property to complete this assessment.
