CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. (Oct. 12, 2024) – Charlotte County Public Works and Community Development are concentrating their crews on Manasota Key. Their primary goal is to expedite road clearing and damage assessments to open the north side of the key to residents and business owners. The county crews are working in conjunction with FPL to ensure downed power lines are not energized.
We ask for patience as our staff works hard to clear the island roads of sand and other hazardous debris so that residents can return to their properties safely.
For your safety, Manasota Key, Don Pedro/Knight Island, Little Gasparilla, and Boca Grande remain closed to residents, guests, and business owners.
For recovery information, call the Charlotte County Emergency Operations Center at 941-833-4000 from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. daily. Follow Charlotte County Emergency Management online at www.charlottecountyfl.gov/em, www.facebook.com/oemcharlottecounty, and www.x.com/ccoem.
